Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 4.87%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.44%

Nifty Metal index ended down 4.87% at 4490.75 today. The index has slipped 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Copper Ltd shed 7.34%, Hindalco Industries Ltd fell 6.72% and National Aluminium Company Ltd dropped 6.20%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 12.00% over last one year compared to the 2.28% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has dropped 3.50% and Nifty Commodities index has slid 2.69% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 1.44% to close at 15413.3 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.35% to close at 51822.53 today.
