Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 3.90%

Nifty Metal index closed down 3.90% at 4540.55 today. The index has slipped 20.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd dropped 12.69%, Hindustan Copper Ltd slipped 9.40% and Welspun Corp Ltd fell 8.68%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 10.00% over last one year compared to the 2.12% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index has dropped 3.08% and Nifty Media index is down 2.59% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.37% to close at 15350.15 while the SENSEX increased 0.46% to close at 51597.84 today.
