Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 1.99%

Nifty Metal index ended down 1.99% at 4660.9 today. The index has slipped 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd shed 3.90%, National Aluminium Company Ltd fell 3.37% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd slipped 3.36%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 11.00% over last one year compared to the 0.37% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index has dropped 1.26% and Nifty Realty index has slid 1.19% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.12% to close at 15780.25 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.02% to close at 53018.94 today.
