Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 2.81%, NIFTY jumps 1.73%

Nifty IT index closed up 2.81% at 28663.05 today. The index is up 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mindtree Ltd added 6.01%, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd rose 5.35% and L&T Technology Services Ltd jumped 3.20%. The Nifty IT index is down 4.00% over last one year compared to the 7.77% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Financial Services index added 2.37% and Nifty Services Sector index gained 2.25% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.73% to close at 16929.6 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.87% to close at 56857.79 today.
