Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index registers a drop of 1.98%, NIFTY Crashes 1.22%

Nifty IT index closed down 1.98% at 27846.8 today. The index has lost 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd fell 2.47%, Mindtree Ltd shed 2.40% and L&T Technology Services Ltd slipped 2.39%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 18.00% over last one year compared to the 2.73% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index has slid 1.92% and Nifty Services Sector index has slid 1.22% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 1.22% to close at 17542.8 while the SENSEX has declined 1.29% to close at 58766.59 today.
