Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index records a surge of 1.35%

Nifty IT index ended up 1.35% at 29416.95 today. The index has added 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd rose 2.02%, Tech Mahindra Ltd jumped 1.94% and Mphasis Ltd gained 1.63%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 6.00% over last one year compared to the 7.80% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty MNC index has slid 0.99% and Nifty Auto index has slid 0.80% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.25% to close at 17388.15 while the SENSEX increased 0.37% to close at 58350.53 today.
