Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index declines 2.83%

Nifty IT index ended down 2.83% at 27418.85 today. The index is down 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mphasis Ltd slipped 6.24%, L&T Technology Services Ltd fell 5.43% and Mindtree Ltd dropped 4.55%. The Nifty IT index is down 8.00% over last one year compared to the 4.17% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index is down 1.39% and Nifty MNC index has slid 1.37% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.88% to close at 16483.85 while the SENSEX is down 0.89% to close at 55268.49 today.
