Quick Wrap: Nifty Financial Services Index rises 1.55%

Nifty Financial Services index closed up 1.55% at 16858.55 today. The index is up 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd gained 2.39%, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd jumped 2.34% and HDFC Bank Ltd added 2.33%. The Nifty Financial Services index is up 2.00% over last one year compared to the 5.66% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index added 1.49% and Nifty Private Bank index added 1.43% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.69% to close at 16719.45 while the SENSEX added 0.70% to close at 56072.23 today.
