Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index declines 1.44%

Nifty Energy index ended down 1.44% at 26418.65 today. The index is up 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Adani Transmission Ltd slipped 6.14%, GAIL (India) Ltd fell 5.14% and Adani Green Energy Ltd dropped 3.87%. The Nifty Energy index is up 36.00% over last one year compared to the 6.77% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index is down 1.09% and Nifty IT index added 0.64% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.09% to close at 17397.5 while the SENSEX added 0.15% to close at 58387.93 today.
