Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index rises 2.03%

Nifty Auto index closed up 2.03% at 12361.65 today. The index is up 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, TVS Motor Company Ltd gained 4.21%, Tata Motors Ltd added 2.84% and MRF Ltd rose 2.77%. The Nifty Auto index is up 19.00% over last one year compared to the 0.78% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Consumption index added 1.52% and Nifty FMCG index added 1.47% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.69% to close at 16049.2 while the SENSEX added 0.65% to close at 53760.78 today.
