Energy shares gain

Energy stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Energy index rising 53.54 points or 0.66% at 8173.05 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 7.89%), Deep Industries Ltd (up 4.33%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 1.84%),Adani Total Gas Ltd (up 1.83%),Oil India Ltd (up 1.33%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Jindal Drilling & Industries Ltd (up 1.08%), Asian Energy Services Ltd (up 0.77%), Goa Carbon Ltd (up 0.65%), Coal India Ltd (up 0.61%), and Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 0.28%).

On the other hand, Castrol India Ltd (down 2.79%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 2.48%), and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.42%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 38.7 or 0.07% at 55342.47.

The Nifty 50 index was down 34.8 points or 0.21% at 16487.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 8.26 points or 0.03% at 26542.79.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 20.19 points or 0.25% at 8165.27.

On BSE,1473 shares were trading in green, 1186 were trading in red and 131 were unchanged.
