The benchmark Nifty eked out a 12-point gain on Thursday even as most global markets flattered. This was the 8th straight day of advance for the 50-share index—its longest winning streak since November 2020. In fact, in the last 15 trading sessions beginning July 27, the Nifty has closed in the red only on one occasion—that too just 6 points, or 0.04 per cent on August 4.
