16 people, including some school children, were killed on Monday after a  bus fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district, a senior official said. Kullu Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg said the Sainj bound bus fell into the gorge near Jangla village at around 8.30 am.

The two-day Monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly starts on Monday, in which Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government will table a Bill to increase the salaries of MLAs, according to an Assembly bulletin. The AAP government is likely to bring a resolution against the Centre's Agnipath defence recruitment scheme in Assembly, party sources said.

India on Monday logged 16,135 new Covid-19 cases, taking the coronavirus tally to 43,518,564. With 24 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the nation's toll from Covid disease reached 525,223. India's tally of cured Covid cases reached 42,879,477 after 13,958 recoveries on Monday. India on Sunday administered 178,383 doses of Covid vaccine, taking the count of total vaccination to 1,979,821,197.
