India reported an increase of 3,482 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 47,995. The country is thirty-third among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On June 13, it added 8,084 cases to take its total caseload to 43,230,101. And, with 10 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,771, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.

With 1,177,146 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 12, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,951,981,150. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,657,335 — or 98.68 per cent of
