On a day the ruling YSRCP launched a massive outreach programme under 'Jagananne Maa Bhavishatyu' (Jagan is our future), Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu urged the people of Andhra Pradesh not to repose faith on Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu made these remarks while addressing a TDP meeting in Nellore and declared that Reddy is not the future of Andhra Pradesh. "Jagan is not your faith nor...your future," remarked Naidu, as per a statement issued on Friday night, adding that people have to rethink on the trajectory that the state is moving in. Invigorated by the recent gains made by the TDP in the Legislative Council elections, party president N Chandrababu Naidu has said his party would not only win the 2024 polls with a "thumping majority" but leave the YSRCP scrambling even in its bastion of Pulivendula. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday disbursed Rs 6,419 crore under the third tranche of YSR Asara scheme, benefiting as many as 74.94 lakh women. Under Asara scheme, outstanding bank loans of eligible women Self-Help Groups will be written off to enable them to stand on their own feet. Reddy released these funds by the click of a button, reiterating that the State government would continue to work for the educational, social, economic and political empowerment of women. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has no moral right to speak on the Polavaram project, which is synonymous with Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has said. Accusing the TDP of not following the technical order in the construction of the project, Reddy said it ended up in the diaphragm wall getting washed away due to floods. TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has no locus standi to talk about the project as he never spoke about it between 1995 and 2014, the Chief Minister said in a statement on Thursday night. Intervening in a discussion on the project in the Assembly, he made these remarks, dismissing the propaganda' by media houses which found fault with the height of the project. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday incorporated an additional nutrient supplement, ragi malt drink, into the menu of government school students, at a cost of Rs 86 crore. With this new addition into the menu of the existing Jagananna Goru Mudda scheme, more than 37.6 lakh students studying in as many as 44,392 government and aided schools will reap the nutritional benefits of getting iron and calcium through their school meals. Making the announcement, Reddy said, "These practices are to make the Gorumudda even better. This food provides useful iron and calcium which helps the growth of children." According to the Chief Minister, the state government's expenditure on the mid-day meal scheme will rise from Rs 1,824 crore per annum to Rs 1,910 crore, on adding ragi malt to the menu at Rs 86 crore. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday released Rs 699 crore under a flagship government scheme for total fee reimbursement to eligible students studying a variety of courses. As many as 9.8 lakh students pursuing ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, medicine and other professional courses will benefit from the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme for the quarter October to December, 2022. Under the scheme, the fee of students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, minorities, Kapus, economically backward classes and persons with disabilities (PwD) categories will be reimbursed. These funds will be directly credited into the bank accounts of the students' mothers. After disbursing the fees by clicking a button, the Chief Minister noted that the fate of the poor can be changed for better only through education. Drug maker Hetero Group will be investing Rs 1,000 crore to expand its pharmaceutical and specialist business in Andhra Pradesh, its Managaing Director Vamsi Krishna Bandi said on Saturday. Speaking at Global Investors Summit 2023 here, he said post-Covid pandemic, more countries are looking at India as a partner of choice in pharmaceutical sector, and Andhra Pradesh is ideally placed to take advantage because of a well-established ecosystem. "We are committed to Andhra Pradesh and will continue to expand our presence here. We'll be investing about Rs 1,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh over the next two years to grow our pharmaceutical and specialty business. This will generate an employment of a minimum of 3,000 people," he said. Bandi further said the USD 2.5 billion pharma group employs over 10,000 people directly and indirectly in Andhra Pradesh, and supplies about 40 per cent of global HIV medicines that are manufactured in the state.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for JSW Group's proposed steel plant at Sunnapurallapalle village in YSR Kadapa district. In the first phase, JSW steel will invest Rs 3,300 crore in the proposed plant and one million tonnes of steel per annum will be produced during the first year. The facility will be upgraded to two million tonnes per year in the second phase and will eventually reach three million tonnes capacity per annum. The total investment for all the three phases would be Rs 8800 crore, AP CM noted. Once the steel plant is set up, there will be an ecosystem developed with several ancillary units. Once the ecosystem is created, then the entire area would be transformed into a Steel City, Jagan said after laying the foundation stone. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday said the State capital would be shifted to Visakhapatnam. Addressing the preparatory meeting for the Global Investors Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam in March, Jagan said he would be shifting his office to the port city in the months to come. "Here I am to invite you to Visakhapatnam which is going to be our capital in the days to come. I myself would also be shifting over to Visakhapatnam in the months to come," he said. The Andhra Pradesh government has purchased 19 new SUVs for use by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, official sources said. Of the 19 Toyota Fortuner vehicles, four will be made bullet-proof and two more will be fitted with jammers as part of the VIP security measures, sources in the Intelligence Security Wing said. With many ministers claiming that Reddy would soon start functioning from the port city of Visakhapatnam which the YSR Congress government wants to make the Executive Capital of the state half of the newly-procured fleet would be stationed there for the Chief Minister's use, the sources said. A new fleet of seven convoy vehicles for the Chief Minister was purchased in mid-2019 after Reddy assumed power. "These vehicles are in a fit condition as they have not been used much.
