Private Debt Placement

Fund raising by listed companies through private placement of corporate bonds dropped 39 per cent to Rs 32,405 crore in the first two months of the current financial year

Rs 62,331 crore was mopped up from private placement of debt securities

Many are looking at covenants previously available only to institutions, such as first loss default guarantees. Covered bonds also gaining in popularity

The funds have been raised mainly for business expansion and support working capital requirements

They garnered Rs 49,033 cr in July this year, compared to Rs 36,774 cr raised in year-ago period
