Kalpataru Power Transmission on Monday said it has bagged orders worth Rs 3,185 crore across various business segments in the domestic as well as international market. Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL) and its international subsidiaries have secured new orders/notification of awards of Rs 3,185 crore, a company statement said. These include orders in the T&D (transmission distribution) business of Rs 1,481 crore and EPC (engineering procurement construction) projects in the water business of Rs 1,509 crore, a company statement said. There is a commercial building project of Rs 195 crore also, it added. "We are witnessing a significant uptick in the Water and T&D business, which we believe will be a major growth driver for us going forward," said Manish Mohnot, Managing Director & CEO, KPTL. Over 17,000 circuit kilometers of transmission lines were installed in India in the last nine years to strengthen the electricity distribution system, Union Power Minister R K Singh said on Tuesday. He made the remarks while addressing delegates from the West African region at an event organised by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) in collaboration with Grid Controller of India Ltd (Grid-India) and West African Power Pool (WAPP) in the national capital. The usage of renewable energy is cheaper compared to the conventional form of energy sources, Singh said, urging the participants to increase use of green energy in their countries. Besides making energy available to their people, these nations must also lay emphasis on the transmission as well as storage of power, he noted. Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited (KPTL) on Thursday said it has bagged new orders worth Rs 1,397 crore in the transmission and distribution (T&D) segment. The orders have been secured in India and overseas markets in the T&D business, KPTL said in a statement. "KPTL and its international subsidiaries have secured new orders/notification of awards of Rs 1,397 crores," it said. Manish Mohnot, Managing Director & CEO, KPTL, said these orders in addition to the orders declared earlier during the year have significantly enhanced the company's T&D order book and provide visibility for future growth. "With these new orders, our YTD (year to date) FY23 order intake has reached Rs 15,784 crores at a consolidated level," he added. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Thursday said that its power transmission and distribution business has bagged a slew of orders both in India and overseas. An order has been secured to provide dynamic reactive power compensator system at a substation in Abu Dhabi, L&T said in a statement. To enhance the grid stability and provide voltage support, specialised equipment are deployed in substations, it said. The scope of this package includes related protection, substation control and monitoring system, 220kV cables and associated civil, mechanical, and electrical works. Infrastructure investment trust IndiGrid has received Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (REC) to establish a transmission system for evacuation of power from renewable energy projects in Osmanabad area in Maharashtra, a statement said. This project is envisaged on build, own, operate and maintain (BOOM) basis for a period of 35 years through tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB), the statement said. The project, with a planned outlay of Rs 170 crore, will consist of one substation of 2 x 500 MVA, 400/220 kV near Kallam and 10 Bays with a LILO multi circuit line of 18 kms. The project will strengthen the transmission system in Maharashtra by improving the grid availability for evacuation & integration of renewable energy in the state. The project is situated in a low-risk plain topography and is proposed to be completed over the next 15-18 months.
