Olectra Greentech Limited, a group company of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), on Wednesday announced that India's first 6x4 heavy-duty electric tipper from its stable received the country's first homologation certificate from automobile regulatory agencies. The electric tipper is now roadworthy, adhering to all the Central Motor Vehicles rules and the first order for 20 e-tippers is in the final stage of discussions, the firm said adding that the company is shortly going to launch variants of the e-tipper and electric truck. Olectra Greentech in technical partnership with Reliance on Thursday unveiled a Hydrogen Bus, which is a carbon-free alternative to traditional public transportation. Olectra Greentech Ltd (OGL), a subsidiary of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), is set to offer the next-generation transport system to the Indian market, a statement stated. In the wake of the depletion of natural resources and the negative impacts of air pollution and emissions, Olectra has taken the initiative to accelerate the development of Hydrogen-powered buses. This initiative will help out the Indian government to achieve carbon-free hydrogen ambitions. Olectra aims to contribute to the nation's environmentally sustainable energy security through its Hydrogen buses, the statement said. Olectra Greentech Limited on Friday said it has received a Letter of Award from Assam State Transport Corporations for 100 electric buses. A press release from the firm said it is the first order bagged from North-Eastern states and the order is to be delivered over a period of nine months and shall be responsible for maintenance of these buses for a period of five years. The value of these 100 Buses bupply would be approximately Rs 151 crore for Olectra. K V Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director, said, "We feel happy to get the first order from the North-Eastern states and Assam. With this order, our buses are running all the corners in India. Ours clocked over five crore kilometres on Indian roads, and reduced carbon emissions significantly.
Olectra Greentech Ltd (OLECTRA) will supply 300 electric buses worth Rs 500 crore to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). The Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL) group company, Evey Trans Private Ltd (EVEY), has received the Letter of Award (LoA) from TSRTC for supply of 300 electric buses to TSRTC, a statement said. According to the statement, the value of this order is approximately Rs 500 crore. EVEY shall procure these buses from Olectra Greentech Ltd, which shall be delivered over a period of 20 months. The order is to supply 300 electric buses under the FAME-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) scheme of the government of India. These 300 e-buses will be supplied on a Gross Cost Contract (GCC)/OPEX model basis for 12 years. During the contract period, Olectra will undertake the maintenance of these buses.
