India on Monday handed over indigenously produced motorbikes to Lebanon and also announced organising an artificial limb fitment camp in the west Asian country. The Made-in-India motorbikes, a part of bilateral assistance, were handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants during the two-day visit of Ausaf Sayeed, Secretary (Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs) to Lebanon. Sayeed called on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon Abdallah Bou Habib and discussed a range of bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest. Sayeed also met Hani Chemaitelly, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrant. Both sides identified key areas of bilateral cooperation during the meeting, including trade, people-to-people contact, vocational training, a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said. Motorcycle maker Royal Enfield on Saturday reported an over two-fold rise in total sales at 82,097 units in September 2022. The company had sold 33,529 units in the same month last year, Royal Enfield said in a statement. Domestic sales were higher at 73,646 units last month against 27,233 units in September 2021. Similarly, exports were also up at 8,451 units compared to 6,296 units in the year-ago month, it added.
Two and three wheeler maker TVS Motor has unveiled 2022 models of its flagship Apache range of motorcycles strengthening its product portfolio, the company said on Thursday. Upgraded with a host of features, the motorcycles are priced at Rs 1.17 lakh for the 160 cc (base variant) and Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi) for the 180 cc base variant. The power increased in the bikes have led to reduction in weight at two kilograms for the 160 cc bike and one kilogram in 180 cc motorcycle.
