Tamil Nadu goes in for single-phase Assembly polls on Tuesday and it will be for the first time in history that the state goes to vote in the absence of star leaders J Jayalalitha and M Karunanidhi.Polling across 234 assembly constituencies in 38 districts of the state will begin at 7 am. A total of 3,998 candidates are in the poll fray. On the 69th birthday of late J Jayalalithaa, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the factions emerged after her death have reinstated their stand against the the rival faction while paying tribute to the late leader.
