Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore has been declared India's best business school in the Financial Times (FT) Masters in Management (MiM) Ranking 2022, announced on Monday, the premier institution said. The institute's global position has also seen a leap this year - IIMB is at number 31 globally in 2022, up from number 47 in 2021, it said in a statement. "IIMB's leadership position in these rankings play a part in raising the visibility and reputation of the school," said IIMB Director Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan. The IIM's two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management, leading to an MBA, has topped the FT MiM Ranking in India this year, the statement said. It has being ranked the highest on parameters such as value for money, women on the institute's board, faculty with doctorates, international course experience, and weighted salary in US dollars, the statement further said.
The Lateral and Final Placements for the PGP and PGPBA Class of 2020-22 of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) saw 662 offers, leading to all 513 students who appeared for placements being placed. Harsh Agrawal, Placement Representative, said: "Overall, there has been a 37 per cent increase in the number of offers YoY, driven primarily by Consulting and Product Management roles. Strategy Consulting continued to be the most sought-after role among the students, followed by Product Management and Finance. Consulting companies made 248 offers led by Accenture with 51 offers, followed by Boston Consulting Group with 30 offers, an IIMB statement said on Wednesday. The summer placements for the PGP and PGP-BA Class of 2021-23 of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) saw 542 internship offers, leading to all 513 students who appeared for placements being placed over two interview days. Consulting companies made 181 offers led by Accenture with 33, followed by Bain & Company (22) and The Boston Consulting Group (22), an IIMB statement said on Wednesday. Top recruiters included Kearney (15), McKinsey & Company (13) and Tata Consultancy Services (12). Prominent recruiters in the information technology and IT product management domain, who made 41 offers, included Microsoft (13), Samsung (6), Walmart Global Tech (6), and Visa Inc. (4). The 42 offers made in the combined bucket of E-commerce, and Operations included Amazon (29), Flipkart (5) and Uber (4). There were 84 offers in the finance domain. All 525 eligible students of IIM Bangalore were recruited for summer placements by over 130 companies, which made 529 offers. Roles offered included in the domains of PE/VC, Business Analytics, Consulting, Finance, General Management, IT/Product Management, Operations, Sales and Marketing", IIMB said in a statement on Monday.
