Maruti Suzuki India on Friday said it has increased prices of its premium compact model Ignis by up to Rs 27,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) with the addition of new features. The model is now being equipped with electronic stability programme (ESP) and Hill Hold Assist as standard feature across all the variants providing an added safety shield for customers, the country's largest carmaker said in a regulatory filing. The Ignis is also compliant with the upcoming E20 and Real Driving Emission (RDE) norms, it added. "The price change varies across trims and ranges up to Rs 27,000 (ex-showroom - Delhi)," Maruti Suzuki India said. The new prices are effective with immediate effect, it added.
Maurti Suzuki said parts for replacement are being arranged and authorised workshops shall be contacting the customers for attending their vehicles.
The peak festive season, which starts from Navratri and ends with Diwali, is critical for auto companies and accounts for a fifth of their annual sales
The company is also looking at "a possibility of a second case" of infection at the facility but has ruled out any impact on the business part due to the situation.
The new Ignis is powered by 1.2 litre petrol engine and comes with manual and Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission options, the company said in a statement
The digital platform developed by the Ignis will serve as an interactive multimedia-enabled instruction manual
The car will be available in 1,200 cc petrol and 1,300cc diesel engine options along with automatic gearshift option
