Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Friday said it is recalling around 2,000 CB300R bike units due to a manufacturing fault in the right crankcase cover of the engine. The voluntary recall covers the 2022 model of the CB300R. The company has identified that due to an inappropriate manufacturing process of the right crankcase cover of the engine, there are chances of sealing plug dislodging due to low retention force caused by engine heat, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said in a statement. This could further cause the sealing plug to come off and engine oil to splash out, it added. In the worst situation, the oil adhering to hot motorcycle parts may cause fire, its contact with tyres may cause slippage or it may injure the rider due to its hot temperature, the company stated. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Tuesday reported a 34.5 per cent decline in total sales at 2,11,978 units in March 2023 as compared to 3,23,434 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales were at 1,97,512 units last month as against 3,09,550 units in March 2022, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. Exports were higher at 14,466 units as compared to 13,884 units in the year-ago month, it added. HMSI said it closed 2022-23 with total sales of 43,50,943 units, a growth of 14 per cent over 2021-22.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Friday said it has launched H'ness CB350 and CB350RS bikes with latest emission norms. The price of H'ness CB350 trims start from Rs 2.09 lakh while CB350RS variants are priced upwards of Rs 2.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The models come with on-board diagnostics (OBD2B) system thus conforming to stricter emission norms which will kick-in from next month. The bike would be available at the company's BigWing dealerships from the end of March, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. "Ahead of the government's deadline, HMSI has been aggressively working on upgrading the product line up with latest norms. Today, we launch the new OBD2B compliant 2023 H'ness CB350 and CB350RS which are future ready," HMSI Managing Director, President & CEO Atsushi Ogata said. The company said it has also introduced an all-new customisation section for CB350 customers.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Wednesday reported a 10.7 per cent increase in domestic sales at 2,33,151 units in December 2022. The company had registered domestic sales of 2,10,638 units in the year-ago period, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. "The market is gaining steady momentum against previous months as well as on a year-on-year basis. Factors like healthy festival season, good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility have translated well to rise in customer walk-ins and enquiries," HMSI Managing Director, President & CEO Atsushi Ogata said. On the outlook, he said, "Stepping into 2023, we expect that the continuously improving consumer sentiment along with the enhanced effort towards the betterment of economy and infrastructure will build the momentum further.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Tuesday reported a 3.97 per cent increase in total sales at 4,49,391 units in October 2022. The company had sold 4,32,229 units in the same month last year, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. In the domestic market, sales were at 4,25,969 units as against 3,94,645 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 7.94 per cent. Exports were lower by 37.68 per cent at 23,422 units as compared to 37,584 units in October last year. "This year's festival season has ushered in a period of real growth & positive sentiment after a challenging period of two-years," HMSI Managing Director, President and CEO Atsushi Ogata said.

Honda Motorcycle Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday said its total vehicle sales were up by 15 per cent at 4,43,643 units in July. The same stood at 3,84,920 units in the year-ago period. Domestic sales grew 18 per cent to 4,02,701 units in the previous month compared to 3,40,420 vehicles sold in July 2021, the company said in a statement. The exports, however, declined 8 per cent at 40,942 units in the last month, it stated. HMSI Managing Director, CEO and President, Atsushi Ogata said that factors such as good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility has translated well to rise in customer walk-ins and enquiries. With the coming festive season, the company expects to regain the growth momentum at a faster rate, Ogata added.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Tuesday said it has launched the new version of superbike Gold Wing Tour in the country, priced at Rs 39.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2022 Gold Wing Tour comes as a completely built-up from Japan, and features dual clutch transmission (DCT) with an airbag. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Tuesday said its total sales declined by 19.97 per cent to 3,54,209 in January 2022. The two-wheeler maker had dispatched 4,37,183 units in January 2021. "While the calendar year 2022 has started on a positive note compared to last month, the sales sentiment in Q4'22 continues to reflect the preceding challenges of last fiscal year," HMSI Director (Sales & Marketing) Yadvinder Singh Guleria said in a statement. However, visible signs of healthy recovery do appear on the horizon and the company is hopeful the speedy implementation in vaccinations, dip in daily COVID cases being reported and easing of restrictions across states will help gain momentum in upcoming quarters, he added. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday launched its new bike CB300R priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings for the bike are open from Wednesday for the new CB300R at Honda's exclusive premium BigWing and BigWing Topline dealerships across India, HMSI said in a statement. The new CB300R is powered by a 286cc 4-valve liquid cooled single cylinder engine. It comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, which provides an assist function for clutch operations requiring less load compared to a regular clutch mechanism. The slipper function reduces unpleasant shocks caused by sudden engine braking during downshifts, ensuring less fatigue and more comfort for a variety of rides, the company said. Two-wheeler major Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch its first electric product in the country in the next financial year, a top company official has said. The company, which sells popular models like Activa and Shine in the country, aims to start feasibility run of the electric scooter with its dealer partners at the end of the festive season this year. In an interaction with PTI, HMSI President, Managing Director and CEO Atsushi Ogata said the company has decided to foray into the segment after having a detailed discussion with its parent firm -- Honda Motor Company in Japan. In-depth details are yet to be finalised but "we have made a commitment to launch (EV product) within the next financial year", he noted. Two-wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday reported a 3 per cent decline in total sales to 4,30,683 units in August. The company had sold 4,43,969 units in the same month last year. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said entering the festival season with a steady recovery in economic activity, the company's total sales stood at 4,30,683 units, including 4,01,469 domestic sales and 29,214 exports in August 2021. The domestic sales breached the 4-lakh mark with a growth of 18 per cent, compared to 3,40,420 units in July 2021, it said in a statement. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Thursday launched an all-new model CB200X in the country, tagged at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram). Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Thursday reported domestic sales of3,95,037 units in March this year. The company had sold 245,716 units in the same month last year when sales were impacted by coronavirus-induced lockdown. Exports stood at 16,000 last month, HMSI said in a statement. The company said it closed FY21 with total sales of 4,073,182 two-wheelers, including domestic sales of 38,65,872 units and exports of 2,07,310 units.
