The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday reported a 10 per cent year-on-year increase in total wholesales at 3,94,460 units in February. The company had dispatched 3,58,254 units in the same month last year. In the domestic market, its sales rose to 3,82,317 units last month from 3,31,462 units in the same month last year. Exports, however, dipped to 12,143 units from 26,792 units in the year-ago period. "The volumes in the month of February indicate the continuously improving consumer sentiment and the company expects the positive trend to continue in the coming months, on the back of favourable economic indicators," Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
Hero Realty Pvt Ltd has purchased a 5- acre land in Gurugram for Rs 90 crore to develop a plotted residential project. The deal was facilitated by property consultant Cushman & Wakefield. The name of the seller has not been disclosed. Hero Realty, promoted by Sunil Kant Munjal's Hero Enterprise, has bought the land in Sector 85, Gurugram, the consultant said in a statement. Dharmesh Shah, CEO, Hero Realty, said, The acquisition marks the entry of Hero Realty into the plotted spaces in Delhi-NCR region." The project will further strengthen its continued sales growth in this fiscal and set the foundation for a significant increase in market share, Shah said. "This land parcel is over 5 acres at a value of Rs 900 million(Rs 90 crore)," the statement said. Hero Realty has successfully delivered projects in Ludhiana, Mohali and Haridwar. Electric two-wheeler maker Hero Electric on Wednesday said it has partnered with Dhoot Transmission Pvt Ltd for new wiring harness solutions. The company's products will be equipped with the latest wiring harnesses of Dhoot Transmission under the partnership, it said in a statement. "Our partnership with Dhoot Transmission to procure wiring harnesses for our products is a step towards ensuring vehicle efficiency and customer safety by equipping our products with durable and robust components," Hero Electric CEO Sohinder Gill said. The two companies have extensively collaborated on the 3D design for Hero Electric models of the wire harness, Dhoot Transmission Managing Director Rahul Dhoot said. "This design has features that provide optimum performance to the end user, ensuring long life, compatibility, and durability, all woven into one with careful thought on cost-effectiveness," he added. India's Hero MotoSports Team Rally began its seventh consecutive Dakar Rally at the Sea Camp near Jeddah on Saturday. The team features a stellar squad of four Rally GP class riders - Franco Caimi, Joaquim Rodrigues, Ross Branch, and Sebastian Buhler. Starting their campaign on a strong foot at the 45th edition of the Dakar Rally, the Team finished the 13-km long Prologue stage with three riders in the top 10 positions. Ross Branch achieved a spot on the podium with a third place, followed by Joaquim Rodrigues in the sixth and Sebastian Buhler in eighth positions. The electric scooter is easy to manoeuver product that strikes a perfect balance between technology and convenience to fulfil the need for short-distance commutes to next-door coffee shops, golf courses and gymnasium etc, the company said in a statement. Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Friday announced the appointment of industry veteran Arun Jaura as its chief technology officer (CTO) to lead the company's research and development (R&D). The company, in a statement, also announced the resignation of Neerja Sharma, company secretary and chief compliance officer. Jaura, who was the managing director of Michelin India Technology Center before taking up the current position, reports to Hero MotoCorp Chairman and CEO Pawan Munjal, the company said in a statement. Vikram Kasbekar, who has been leading the R&D function at Hero MotoCorp in the past two-and-a-half years, will support Jaura for a seamless transition and continue to work on some key assignments in the coming months, it said. The appointment of Jaura, a global technology expert, is aimed at strengthening the company's leadership team amid its continued focus on its vision 'Be the Future of Mobility', Hero MotoCorp said.
