Harsh

Born in 1964, Harsh Malhotra is well-known in Delhi's political circles and is currently serving as MoS Corporate Affairs. Malhotra is also a Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi constituency. He is a science graduate from Delhi University's Hansraj College. Hailing from the Punjabi community, Malhotra also studied law from DU.

Political Career
Malhotra has been part of BJP for a few decades and has climbed up the organisational ranks during this period. His first break came in 2012, when he was elected as a ward councillor from New Delhi. Later, he was made mayor of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Over the years, Malhotra has held several organisational posts in the BJP and is considered Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva’s right-hand.

Malhotra was Delhi BJP's general secretary when he was fielded by the party to fight against AAP's Dalit leader Kuldeep Kumar from East Delhi LS constituency in the 2024 polls. Malhotra won the seat by margin of 6.85 per cent votes, which was the lowest in terms of vote share among the seven BJP MP elects from the national capital.

As of 2024, Malhotra is the only Delhi MP, who is serving as an Union minister in the Modi Cabinet.

Apart from his political commitments, Malhotra is also the president of Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti, a non-government organisation (NGO) dedicated to the cause of spreading awareness on organ donation.
