About Harnaut

Harnaut

Harnaut, in Nalanda district, remains the seat most closely tied to Nitish Kumar’s political journey. It was from here that he first entered the Assembly in 1985, and the constituency has since stood as a JD(U) bastion. Beyond its electoral value, the seat carries deep symbolic weight as it represents both Nitish’s political legacy and the next chapter for his party.

In the previous election, JD(U)’s Hari Narayan Singh won with 65,404 votes, while the runner-up candidate from LJP, Mamta Devi, got 38,163 votes.
