Godrej Appliances is targeting a turnover of Rs 5,500 crore in 2022-23 and around 35 per cent of the sales will be contributed from its premium range of products, a top company official said. Besides, Godrej Appliances is also investing Rs 200 crore in the capacity expansion of its premium range and adding more products, which will be largely done at its Shirwal, Pune-based plant, the company's Business Head & Executive Vice-President Kamal Nandi said. The company has a "very good response" from the market for its premium portfolio product range, in which it has invested Rs 250 crore so far, Nandi told PTI. Godrej Appliances on Monday said it will invest Rs 700 crore to increase its annual appliance production capacity by 19 lakh units by 2022, taking it up to 65 lakh units per annum. The appliances maker also plans to introduce newer technologies and carry out backward integration. "Godrej Appliances is all set to invest another Rs 700 crore by 2022. This latest announcement takes the tally of Godrej Appliances' investment in capacity and technology expansion to Rs 1,100 Crore over a period of six years," the Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co unit said. Godrej Appliances won EESL's contract to supply, install and commission 52,000 Super-Efficient Green Inverter AC for government and railway establishments. The contract is worth Rs 2.07 billion, said Godrej in a public statement. "This initiative is part of a larger program to make buildings more energy-efficient by using super-efficient cooling equipment and LED lights. The Government plans to replace current old air-conditioners in government buildings with super-efficient appliances that will consume 30% less power.
