Commuters of the Delhi Metro can participate in an online survey being currently conducted by a global transport body across various parameters, including availability, accessibility and security, officials said Sunday. The Transport Strategy Centre (TSC) in London, which manages CoMET (Community of Metros) benchmarking group, is conducting the 10th edition of the 'Online Customer Satisfaction Survey' from March 27 to April 30. "The main objective of the survey is to know what the commuters think about various aspects of metro operations, and can give feedback or suggestions on improving the quality of service," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement. Commuters who wish to participate in the survey can visit DMRC's official website and submit it online by clicking on the relevant links. The number of pink passes given to women travelling in state run buses has touched the 100-crore mark, an official statement said on Friday. The city government said Delhi was the first in India to initiate free travel for women on such a large scale and highlighted that 25 per cent women travelled in state run buses in 2020-21 while the figure increased to 33 per cent in 2022-23. If the ridership of Delhi buses (DTC and DIMTS combined) is to be seen, it is slowly inching back towards the pre-Covid numbers, the statement said. In 2019-20, Delhi buses had a ridership of more than 160 crore. Due to the Covid pandemic, it dropped to 71 crore in 2020-21 but recovered slightly to 93 crore in 2021-22, it said. Since April 2022 till today, it has reached nearly 125 crore, almost 75 per cent of the pre-Covid numbers. A court here on Friday while acquitting a man of charges of assault and criminal intimidation observed that the issue of overcrowding in public transport services, especially buses, was a "recipe for disaster". Hundreds of Delhi Metro commuters faced a harrowing time on a busy Monday morning as a technical snag in a train between Sultanpur and Ghitorni stations led to a chaos at several stations. The Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro connects Samyapur Badli in Delhi to HUDA City Centre in Gurugram. Several people were stranded between 7 am and 10 am as services were not available between Sultanpur and Ghitorni due to a "technical issue" in a train, official sources said.
