The draft Master Plan for Delhi-2041 is likely to be notified by the end of March, officials said on Thursday. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had earlier this month approved the draft master plan with Lt Governor VK Saxena highlighting its thrust for inclusive development, sustainability and innovative interventions such as transit-oriented development hubs, land pooling, heritage and Yamuna rejuvenation, and regeneration of the city. "The DDA has already approved the draft Master Plan and we are in the process of sending it to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. We are hopeful that the ministry will approve it by the end of this month or by early April, following which it will be notified," said an official. The Delhi High Court Tuesday issued notice on a plea seeking court's direction to the city government to put a stop to demolition drive by Delhi Development Authority (DDA)

Any person having a flat or a plot of land measuring less than 67 square metres in Delhi has become eligible to apply for the allotment of newly-constructed flats being offered by the DDA for the first time, the urban body said on Monday. In a statement, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) said the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has "approved modifications/relaxations" proposed by the DDA in the Housing Regulations, 1968, which were issued under section 57 of the DDA Act, 1957. However, it did not specify as to when the modifications or relaxations received the nod from the central ministry. "The objective of modifications/relaxations was to enable general public to buy DDA flats without much restrictions/hassles," the statement said. The Delhi Development Authority is constructing 1,675 EWS flats for Jailorwala Bagh JJ cluster in the national capital, and the work is expected to be completed by March, officials said on Monday. This is part of an in-situ rehabilitation project at Jailorwala Bagh in Ashok Vihar area. A senior DDA official said 1,675 flats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) are being constructed for this JJ cluster and the work is likely to be completed by March.
