Not too bad, is it! It has been a lot of hard work. The South Africa tour was a bit of a setback, but sped things up as well, got back home and got an injection. I don't have any travel issues unlike the others. I look fresh. It's nice to chip in, if Mitch Marsh was there on the field, we would have chopped and changed [on the bowling]. Since he was not there, had to bowl more. That will be the role of the allrounders in this World Cup. We are all trying to be as flexible as possible. We have a super flexible list and it's good to get some momentum before the World Cup.
Sharma, 36, who had become the oldest Indian to captain the national side in a World Cup game, now also has the third highest number of runs for any Indian in World Cup history, sitting behind legendary batters like Tendulkar and Kohli.

World Cup: Rohit surpasses Gayle for most sixes in international cricket
India’s Rohit Sharma surpassed West Indies' Chris Gayle for the record of most sixes across formats (Tests, ODIs and T20Is) in international cricket. He did that by hitting a six against Naveen Ul-Haq in the ICC World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan. With the six which came just after Rohit had reached his fifty, he now has 554 sixes across the format. In the list follow big cricketing names like Gayle, Shahid Afridi, Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptil and MS Dhoni.

Rajkot. Cameron Green completes
That's it! Australia beat India by 66 runs in the third and final ODI in Rajkot. Cameron Green completes the proceedings with the final wicket of Mohammed Siraj. India bowled out for 286 in the chase of 353. Glenn Maxwell starred with the ball, grabbing 4 for 40. India needed a big innings from someone in the top four to make the chase interesting but Rohit Sharma and co. couldn't quite deliver with the bat. While Rohit scored 81, Kohli made 56 but both could not carry on despite settling in. KL Rahul (26) and Shreyas Iyer (48) too got going but couldn't convert their starts to big knocks. So, Australia manage to avoid the series whitewash. India take series 2-1.

We have lost the series
Nice to contribute. Nice to navigate that scenario (batting getting tougher with old ball) and get a good total on the board. It certainly felt like the game was nicest at the front end. Boys did well at the back end. It was a bit hard to slog. We have lost the series but it was really nice to bounce back and see the team gel, very satisfying performance.

we have had almost a full-strength team.
must say I'm pretty happy to bowl in the night than in the heat. Both have not played a lot, Maxwell four-fer and Starcy looked in great rhythm. Trav Head won't be fit for the start of the tournament. I will be pretty worried about opening the bowling against them [on Warner-Mitch Marsh]. Ash Agar is back home with a calf and Head won't be fit for the next couple of weeks. Happy as it was the first hit where we have had almost a full-strength team.

India captain Rohit Sharma
'm pretty happy, of course I would like to go all the way along but if I'm hitting like that I'm happy. The last 7-8 odis we have played really well, we have been challenged under different conditions and different teams, I thought we responded to that challenge pretty well. Unfortunately not the result we wanted today. (on Bumrah) I'm pretty happy, more importantly how he feels body-wise, he has got so much skill, one bad game can happen to anyone. How he feels mentally and body-wise is key for us and that's looking good for us. When we talk about the 15 we are very clear what we want. We are not confused, we know where we are headed as a team. It's a team sport and we want everyone to come and play their part - that's how we win championships. It's about looking after the body and try and stay fresh for the next one and half months.

Australia saved their best for the last as Indian middle-order
Australia saved their best for the last as Indian middle-order wilted under pressure exerted by part-time off-spin of Glenn Maxwell, losing the third ODI by 66 runs in Indore on Wednesday. India however won the series 2-1. India were cruising along at 171 for 2 chasing a stiff target of 353 on a placid track but the middle-order crumbled in chase with Maxwell (4/40) getting crucial breakthroughs to restrict the hosts to 286 in 49.4 overs
