Bosch unveils India plans

Germany-based Robert Bosch, the world leader in diesel technology, is planning to invest Rs 850 crore in its Indian operations. This will take the companys total investment to Rs 2,650 crore by 2010. The company has a presence in India through its subsidiary Motor Industries Company (MICO). The company had increased its stake in the Indian subsidiary by 9.2% for Rs 1,300 crore recently. The board of directors of MICO, which met today, approved a proposal to change the name of the company to Bosch subject to the approval of the shareholders and regulatory authories.
