Stock market live updates: Broader markets, too, were tepid in trade as Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 100 indices slipped up to 1 per cent

Domestic markets extended losses in Tuesday's intra-day trade, weighed by index heavy-weights like Bajaj Twins, Tech Mahindra, M&M, SBI, HCL Technologies. 

Benchmark indices Nifty50 lowered over 50 points to trade below 17,100 levels, whereas the S&P BSE Sensex declined over 200 points to trade around 57,989 levels.

Broader markets, too, were tepid in trade as Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 100 indices slipped up to 1 per cent. Volatility index, India VIX, meanwhile, slipped over 3 per cent.

Sectorally, barring Nifty FMCG index with marginal gains, all other sectoral indices drowned in the sea of red.

Among individual stocks, shares of Krsnaa Diagnostics surged over 4 per cent after it operationalised 100 more Pathology Collection Centers. 

Besides, shares of Lupin gained over 1 per cent after USFDA completed inspection of Bioresearch Centre in Pune, without any observations.

Market Check:: Sensex sinks almost 2,000 pts from day's high in intra-day deals

The BSE benchmark index had rallied to a high of 60,773 during the Budget annoucement. However, heavy selling in the last one-hour of trades saw the Sensex slide to a low of 58,817 - down 1,956 points from the day's high.
