Domestic markets extended losses in Friday's intra-day trade, amid weak global cues.
Key indices Nifty50 had declined over 200 points to below 17,400; whereas the S&P BSE Sensex shed 800 points at 59,000.
Broader indices, too, edged lower as Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices were down over 1 per cent. Volatility gauge, India VIX, meanwhile, climbed over 7 per cent.
All sectors nosedived in the sea of red, with Nifty PSU Bank index being the worst hit, over 2 per cent.
Among individual stocks, shares of Tata Motors were up 1 per cent after Tata Technologies filed papers with the market regulator for its initial public offering (IPO).
