Hockey World Cup Quarterfinal Highlights

The Australian team continued its travel to the semis once again. The side that hasn’t missed even a single semis since 1975, has reached the semis once again. The goalkeeper Andrew Charter saved a miraculous late penalty stroke to keep the lead of the Aussies intact at 4-3. 

Spain took the lead in the second quarter with a goal from Xavier Gispert in the 19th minute while Marc Recasens scored in the 22nd to make it 2-0 in favour of the Redsticks. 

However, Australia fought back and scored one late in the second quarter to make it 1-2 at the end of the first half. The Aussies then scored three times in the third quarter to make it 4-2 in their favour before Spain made it 3-4 to end the quarter. 

In the last quarter, Spain had a golden chance to make it 4-4 with a penalty stroke, but they failed to convert it and as a result, the match was over with a score of 4-3 in favour of Australia.
