Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index records a surge of 2.66%

Nifty FMCG index ended up 2.66% at 39755.65 today. The index has added 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Unilever Ltd jumped 4.07%, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd added 4.02% and United Breweries Ltd gained 3.35%. The Nifty FMCG index has increased 10.00% over last one year compared to the 0.72% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index increased 1.66% and Nifty Consumption index gained 1.60% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.53% to close at 15835.35 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.62% to close at 53234.77 today.
