Quick Wrap: Nifty Commodities Index registers a drop of 0.79%

Nifty Commodities index closed down 0.79% at 5759.5 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd fell 3.07%, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd shed 2.84% and SRF Ltd dropped 2.36%. The Nifty Commodities index has increased 4.00% over last one year compared to the 1.77% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index has slid 0.75% and Nifty PSU Bank index has dropped 0.67% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.02% to close at 17539.45 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.06% to close at 58803.33 today.
