Japan Nikkei falls 0.74%

Japan share market finished session lower on Monday, 20 June 2022, amid lingering concerns of global economic slowdown, with chip-related and energy stocks leading the losses after oil prices tumbled over the weekend and on concerns about rising interest rates overseas

At closing bell, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down by 191.78 points, or 0.74%, to 25,771.22. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange dropped 16.96 points, or 0.92%, to 1,818.94.

CURRENCY NEWS: The dollar moved around upper 134 yen range in Tokyo trading on Monday. At 5 p.m., the dollar stood at 134.65-66 yen, up from 134.29-30 yen at the same time on Friday.
