India reported an increase of 4,245 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 119,457. The country is twenty-fourth among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On July 7, it added 18,930 cases to take its total caseload to 43,566,739. And, with 35 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 525,305, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.

With 1,144,489 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on July 6, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,983,318,772. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,921,977 — or 98.53 per cent of the total caseload — with 14,650 new cured cases being reported on July 7.
