India reported an increase of 1,239 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 22,416. The country is fifty-first among the most affected countries by active cases. On June 4, it added 3,962 cases to take its total caseload to 43,172,547. And, with 26 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,677, or 1.22 per cent of total confirmed infections.

With 1,167,037 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 3, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,939,647,071. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,625,454— or 98.74 per cent of total caseload — with 2,697 new cured cases being reported on June 4.
