2 IAF fighter jets Sukhoi-30, Mirage 2000 crash in MP; 1 in Rajasthan

Two Indian Air Force (IAF) figter jets, a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000 have crashed near Morena, Madhya Pradesh, according to news reports by ANI. 

The IAF has confirmed that one pilot has been killed in the Morena crash.

Another aircraft crash has been reported from Rajasthan's Bharatpur. However, the authorities are yet to find what type of plane it was. News reports suggest that it was also an IAF fighter jet.

According to reports the two IAF aircrafts that crashed in Morena had taken off from the Gwalior air base during an exercise.

 

Initial reports suggest that the Sukhoi-30 had two pilots onboard and the Mirage 2000 aircraft had one. Two pilots are reportedly safe, while the third pilot was reportedly died.
 
The IAF has initiated a court of enquiry to find out whether there was a mid-air collision in Madhya Pradesh, according to media reports.

The news on pilot's safety is still awaited in the aircraft crash in Rajastha's Bharatpur.

The Bharatpur DSP has told ANI that he received information about a plane crash around 10-10.15 am. However, reaching the spot, it was found it was an IAF fighter jet. 


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed in a tweet that he has directed the local administration to assist the IAF in the relief and rescue operation.
