SoftBank-backed e-commerce tech firm Unicommerce said that over 8,000 warehouses will be leveraging its warehouse management platform by March 2023. The SaaS (software-as-a-service) for post-purchase experience management is adding new 800 warehouses by next year.

More than 7,200 warehouses are already live on Unicommerce’ s platform and managing more than 96 million SKUs (stop keeping units) across serving diverse sectors like FMCG, beauty and wellness, fashion and accessories, and eyewear.

“Unicommerce has been working with some of the biggest brands of the country and enabling them with a technology platform to digitize their warehouse and other supply-chain operations,” said Kapil Makhija, CEO, Unicommerce.

The network of Unicommerce-powered warehouses is pan-India with facilities located across all the states and union territories of India. Unicommerce’ s warehouse management SaaS solutions process millions of orders every day to serve consumers across India and international markets.

Over the last couple of years, many companies have automated various parts of business operations to serve the rising e-commerce order volume. Unicommerce’s platform manages and automates all the workflows of the warehouse from picking, packing, dispatch of goods as well as procurement of goods at the warehouse.

The SaaS platform is designed to ensure seamless integration of multiple warehouses. It enables automatic order allocation to the warehouse nearest to consumers along with managing return orders at the warehouse.

“As the industry models evolve and companies venture into multiple sectors, a platform like ours is playing a pivotal role in transforming supply chain technology,” said Makhija.

Multiple new categories and business models have emerged in the last two years in the area of e-commerce. This has opened up opportunities for Unicommerce which has worked with over 15000 companies across the country. These include brands such as Boat, mCaffeine, Chumbak, Adidas and Enamor. The company also works with roll-up firms such as Mensa Brands, Evenflow, GOAT Labs and 10Club.

“Apart from significant new client acquisitions, our growth is also fueled by our existing clients deploying our solutions for their new warehouses spread across the country,” said Makhija.

A few of the key platform partners of Unicommerce include Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Lazada, Noon, Shopify and Delhivery.

Unicommerce also recently announced its plans to increase its workforce by 50 per cent to support its expansion plans. Its platform is used to process over 450 million orders annually, amounting to $5 billion GMV (gross merchandise value). The firm said its platforms are used to process 20 per cent of India’s e-commerce volumes.
