Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday pitched his state as a safe investment destination and also interacted with prominent Bollywood personalities during his visit to Mumbai, where Maharashtra's Opposition parties targeted him over his roadshow. The chief minister is on an eight-city roadshow to promote the 3-day 'UP Global Investor Summit 2023' to be held in Lucknow from February 10-12.

UP CM orders officials to provide power subsidy to boost economic growth

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said power subsidy should be provided to looms for boosting the economic growth of over 2.5 lakh weavers in the state. The power corporation should make arrangements to provide subsidy to weavers for improving productivity. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the state at a high-level meeting with officials, and said that the situation in the state is normal amid the rising cases in various countries. Preempting a heavy footfall on the new year in the temple city, police here have beefed up security and marshalled other resources for better crowd control. Home Ministry gives NOC for name change of 2 places in Uttar Pradesh

The Union Home Ministry has given its consent to change the names of two places in Uttar Pradesh following recommendations from the state government, officials said on Tuesday. The 'no-objection' certificates were issued by the ministry for changing the name of municipal council 'Mundera Baazar' in Gorakhpur district to 'Chauri-Chaura' and that of 'Telia Afghan' village in Deoria district to 'Telia Shukla', an official said. The home ministry considers proposals for name change according to the existing guidelines, in consultations with agencies concerned. It gives a 'no-objection' certificate to change the name of any place after taking consent from the Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts and the Survey of India, another official said. For changing the name of a village, town or a city, an executive order is needed.
