Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said power subsidy should be provided to looms for boosting the economic growth of over 2.5 lakh weavers in the state. The power corporation should make arrangements to provide subsidy to weavers for improving productivity. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the state at a high-level meeting with officials, and said that the situation in the state is normal amid the rising cases in various countries. He also directed the officials to closely monitor the "changing trends" of coronavirus and to conduct genome sequencing of the new cases. The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday presented a supplementary budget of about Rs 34,000 crore for 2022-23 in the Assembly on the first day of the Winter Session. This includes Rs 14,000 crore for new schemes. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the demands for a supplementary grant of Rs 33,769 crore.
