The South Asian community in the United States has strongly condemned the incident of racial abuse of four Indian-American women by a Mexican-American woman in Texas. The incident took place on Wednesday night in a parking lot in Dallas, Texas. The woman, identified as Esmeralda Upton who has now been arrested, is seen in the video identifying herself as a Mexican-American and assaulting a group of Indian-Americans. "I hate you Indian. All these Indians come to America because they want a better life," Esmeralda Upton is seen saying in the video. The video shows her telling the group of women to "Go back to India. You... people are ruining this country". The video has now gone viral and sent shock waves among the Indian-American and South Asian American communities across the United States. Arun Agarwal, president and co-founder of the Indian American CEO (IACEO) Council, told PTI that the Indian-American community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is strong and will continue to grow .

Police in Texas on Thursday arrested a person after a video of her assaulting a group of four Indian-American women surfaced and went viral in which she is abusing them and asking them to go back to India. The incident took place on Wednesday night in a parking lot of Dallas, Texas. The woman, who has now been arrested, is seen in the video identifying herself as a Mexican-American and assaulting a group of Indian Americans. "I hate you Indian. All these Indians come to America because they want a better life," the woman is seen saying in the video, while repeatedly dropping the f-bomb. The video has now gone viral and sent shock waves among the Indian-American community across the United States. The Mexican-American woman has been identified as Esmeralda Upton of Plano. The person who posted this video wrote that "this incident occurred in Dallas, Texas after my mom and her three friends went to dinner". A pair of two-day-old North Texas wildfires continued to resist containment Wednesday after destroying 21 homes, officials said. The Chalk Mountain Fire near Glen Rose, Texas, destroyed 16 homes and damaged five others as it remained on the move Wednesday after scorching almost 10 square miles (26 square kilometers) of mostly short grass, brush and juniper as of midday Wednesday, said Alexandra Schwier, a Texas A&M Forest Service spokeswoman. The fire about 50 miles (80 kilometers) southwest of Fort Worth was 10% contained Wednesday with embers from burning tree crowns flying up to 200 yards (183 meters). The fire at Possum Kingdom Lake destroyed five homes as it spread along its western shore, charring 500 (200 hectares) acres about 70 miles (113 kilometers) west of Fort Worth. That fire was 15% contained Wednesday, the Forest Service said.
