Telangana imposes fresh Covid curbs, bans rallies, gatherings till Jan 10

In view of the current COVID-19 situation in the country, the Telangana government on Saturday imposed fresh COVID curbs in the state as a precautionary measure against the spread of the virus.Certain measures were put in place to control the spread of COVID-l9 due to the emergence of Omicron Variant of Concern (VoC) in different parts of the country.The orders shall come into force with immediate effect and continue to remain in force till January 10, 2022.Rallies, public meetings, mass gatherings of all types including religious, political and cultural events will be strictly prohibited throughout the state, the order copy read.The government further said that the management of public transport, shops, malls, establishments, offices, etc shall ensure strict compliance of mandatory wearing of face masks, physical distancing, frequent sanitization of premises, provision for hand hygiene and screening at entry points with IR thermometers/thermal scanners.Further, as per the order, ...

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Sounderrajan has congratulated the state on achieving 100 per cent first dose vaccination and urged people to take the second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.On completion of 100 per cent vaccination of the COVID-19 first doses in Telangana, Governor visited Chintalbasti Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC) in Hyderabad on Wednesday.Addressing media persons yesterday, the Governor said: "Telangana has completed 100 per cent first dose vaccination and 65 per cent second dose vaccination. I appeal to the people to take the second dose of vaccination also. Just a single dose is not enough and the people have to take a second dose too. Telangana reports 3 new Omicron cases, state tally reaches to 44

Telangana reported three new Omicron cases on Sunday, according to the state health department.With this, the total number of Omicron cases in the state rose to 44 of which 10 patients have recovered completely and were discharged from the state-run TIMS hospital.A total of 248 passengers arrived from "At-risk" countries at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Two samples tested positive for COVID-19. Both of the samples were sent for genome sequencing.Two samples of the passengers travelling from countries other than "At risk" countries were tested positive on a random sampling basis for the Omicron variant.One contact was found positive for the Omicron variant.The state reported 109 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. As many as 190 patients recovered from the disease. The state reported 1 new death in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department.The active caseload in the state stands at 3,417.Meanwhile, India has reported more than 400 Omicron cases so far.

Telangana reports 3 new Omicron cases, state tally rises to 41

Telangana reported 3 new cases of the new COVID variant, Omicron in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department.With this, the total number of Omicron cases rose to 41 in the state out of which 10 patients have recovered completely and were discharged from the state-run TIMS hospital.According to the COVID status bulletin by the health department on Saturday, as many as 333 passengers arriving from "At Risk" countries were screened at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on the day.A total of 8 such passengers were found to be COVID positive. All eight samples have been sent for genome sequencing, of which none of the passengers travelling from the "At risk" countries tested positive.3 samples of the passengers travelling from countries other than "At risk" countries were tested positive on a random sampling basis for the Omicron variant.The results of the 5 samples are awaited.India's tally of Omicron cases has surpassed the 400 mark till now.
