10, 12 exam date sheets on social media fake, says CBSE; schedule out soon

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday said purported date sheets for class 10 and 12 exams doing the rounds on social media are fake. The board is yet to announce the exam date sheets, and officials said it will be done soon. "The multiple versions of datesheets doing the round are fake. The exam schedule will soon be announced and the students and parents should wait for official information," a senior board official said. The board had earlier announced it will conduct theory examinations for class 10 and 12 for the academic year from February 15, 2023. "The practical examinations will begin from January 1 and schools have been directed to complete the syllabus for these till then. The practical examinations for Class 12 will only be conducted by external examiners appointed by the board, while for Class 10, these will be conducted by internal examiners, the official explained. Indiana's attorney general on Wednesday sued Chinese-owned social media app TikTok, claiming the video-sharing platform misleads its users, particularly children, about the level of inappropriate content and security of consumer information. Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita claimed in a complaint filed Wednesday that while the social video app says it is safe for users 13 years and older, the app contains salacious and inappropriate content" available to young users for unlimited periods of time, day and night, in an effort to line TikTok's pockets with billions of dollars from US consumers. A separate complaint from Rokita argues the app has users' sensitive and personal information but deceives consumers into believing that information is secure. Bengal govt extends social outreach programme 'Duare Sarkar' till Dec 31

The West Bengal government on Friday extended the 'Duare Sarkar' programme, social outreach camps about its various projects, till the end of this year, an official release said. It had earlier announced extension of the programme till December 5. "The state government had notified (on September 28), the schedule and details of the 5th edition of the Duare Sarkar and Paray Samadhan campaign with outreach camps at the habitation levels to be held from November 1 to 30. The same was extended till December 5, 2022 on November 28," the notification said. "Now, after due consideration... the state government is pleased to extend the outreach camps under 'Duare Sarkar' further up to December 31st," it said. The first edition of the campaign started on December 1, 2020.
