Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a three-day state mourning as a mark of respect to Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav who died on Monday. The 82-year-old Yadav passed away in Medanta hospital in Gurugram. "Uttar Pradesh government announces three-day state mourning on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. His last rites will be performed with full state honour," Adityanath said in a tweet in Hindi. Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav continues to be in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Medanta hospital in Gurugram and his condition remains critical, the hospital said on Friday. He is being administered life-saving drugs, it said in a health bulletin. "Mulayam Singh ji is still critical and on life-saving drugs. He is being treated in the ICU (of) Medanta hospital, Gurugram, by a comprehensive team of specialists," the hospital said. The bulletin was also shared by the Samajwadi Party's official handle on Twitter. Yadav, 82, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday.

The condition of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav continues to be critical and on Tuesday he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Medanta hospital in Gurugram, the hospital said. Yadav, 82, was in the critical care unit of the hospital till Monday. "Mulayam Singh ji is still critical and admitted in the ICU of Medanta hospital and is being treated by a comprehensive team of specialists," said the health bulletin issued by the hospital, and tweeted by the Samajwadi Party on its official handle. "We all wish for his speedy recovery and long life," the party said. Yadav has been under treatment at the Medanta Hospital since August 22. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. SP national convention at Lucknow on Sept 29, party president to be elected

The Samajwadi Party (SP) will hold its national convention at Lucknow on September 29 during which its president will be elected, and the party's strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls discussed.
