Jaishankar woos Paraguayan companies by flagging Indian Embassy in Asuncion

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday said the establishment of a resident Indian Embassy here will spur an expansion of economic engagements between India and Paraguay, as he wooed Paraguayan companies to invest in the country. Jaishankar, who is on his first-ever official visit to South America aimed at boosting overall bilateral ties with the region, is also the first Indian Foreign Minister to visit Paraguay, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also inaugurated a resident Indian Embassy in Paraguay and said its establishment will take bilateral ties to a higher level. Dialogue to resolve Ladakh border standoff is effective, says China

Beijing on Friday concurred with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's observation that an Asian Century cannot happen if India and China don't join hands and said dialogue between the two countries to resolve the eastern Ladakh border standoff is effective. Responding to a series of questions after delivering a lecture on 'India's Vision of the Indo-Pacific' at the prestigious Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok on Thursday, Jaishankar said the relationship between India and China was going through an "extremely difficult phase" after what Beijing had done at the border and emphasised that the Asian Century would not happen if the two neighbours could not join hands. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday met envoys of Latin America and the Caribbean countries, with a focus on boosting overall bilateral ties. The meeting came ahead of Jaishankar's visit to South America. EAM Jaishankar visits temple in Thailand, highlights shared traditions

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday highlighted the shared religious and cultural traditions between India and Thailand as he visited a Hindu temple here which is the official centre of Hinduism in the country. Jaishankar arrived here on Tuesday to attend the 9th India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting. "Offered prayers this (Thursday) morning at the Devasthana of Bangkok. Received the blessings of Phra Maharajaguru Vidhi. Underlines our shared religious and cultural traditions," Jaishankar tweeted.
