Tripathi's convoy was targeted at Sehkan village in Churachandpur district by suspected militants of the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), an insurgent group in Manipur, demanding a separate homeland. "We agreed to continue the useful dialogue & look forward to strengthening the partnership further," he said. The conversation came ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US this week.
