CG Power Q2 net profit falls 11% to Rs 179 cr; total income rises 16%

CG Power and Industrial Solutions on Wednesday reported 11 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 178.97 crore for September quarter 2022-23. The company logged a profit of Rs 201.78 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2021, a BSE filing stated. However, its total income rose to Rs 1,707 crore in the quarter from Rs 1,468.56 crore in the same period a year ago. The board in its meeting also approved a proposal to expand the manufacturing capacity of motors at its Ahmednagar and Goa plants with a capital outlay of Rs 230 crore. The proposed expansion would increase the capacity to 19.92 lakh low tension motors per annum, from the existing capacity of 9.93 lakh per annum. The current capacity utilisation is around 80 per cent. The expansion project will be implemented in 2 phases over a period of 4 years and will be funded through internal accruals. UltraTech Cement's Q2 net profit falls 42% to Rs 759 cr; net sales rise 16%

Aditya Birla group firm UltraTech Cement Ltd on Wednesday reported a decline of 42.09 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 758.70 crore for the second quarter ended on September 30, 2022. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,310.34 crore in the July-September period a year ago, UltraTech Cement said in a BSE filing. Its revenue from operations rose 15.61 per cent to Rs 13,892.69 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 12,016.78 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal. According to UltraTech, the second quarter is traditionally a weak one for the cement sector, with lower demand as construction activity slows down during monsoons. "Demand was low during July and August 2022, showing some sign of revival in September 2022," said UltraTech in its earnings statement. Tata Communications' net profit grows 25% to Rs 532 crore in July-September

Tata Communications on Tuesday reported a 25 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 532.29 crore in the July-September quarter of the current financial year. The company had recorded a net profit of Rs 425.38 crore in the same period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing. Tata Communications' consolidated income from operations grew by about 6 per cent to Rs 4,430.74 crore during the reported quarter compared to Rs 4,174.02 crore in the year-ago period. "We are pleased to announce robust data revenue growth and healthy profits in the second quarter of this fiscal. Our international markets are witnessing good growth and our continued efforts of shifting from products to platforms is yielding positive results," said A S Lakshminarayanan, MD and CEO of Tata Communications.

Polycab India's Q2 net profit jumps 37% at Rs 270 cr, revenue up by 10.83%

Wires and cables manufacturer Polycab India (PIL) on Tuesday reported a 36.72 per cent growth in consolidated profit during the September quarter at Rs 270.45 crore. The company's profit stood at Rs 197.80 during the corresponding quarter of 2021-22, it said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations of the company during the quarter under review grew by 10.83 per cent to Rs 3,332.35 crore as against Rs 3,006.55 crore in the year-ago period. "We continued with our strong business performance in the second quarter, posting the highest ever second quarter revenue in the history of the company. Combined with the stand-out performance of the first quarter, our top-line for the first half of the year grew by 25 per cent year-on-year. TV18 Broadcast Q2 profit down 95.5% to Rs 10.28 cr; revenue up 12.6%

Media firm TV18 Broadcast Ltd on Tuesday reported a 95.55 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 10.28 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 231.40 crore for the July-September period of the previous fiscal, TV18 Broadcast said in a regulatory filing. However, its consolidated revenue from operations rose by 12.65 per cent to Rs 1,473.43 crore compared to Rs 1,307.90 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. TV18 Broadcast's total expenses were at Rs 1,485.95 crore, up 34.59 per cent from Rs 1,104 crore earlier. L&T Tech Services' Q2 net profit grows 23% to Rs 282 cr; revenue up 24%

IT company L&T Technology Services on Tuesday posted a 22.7 per cent growth in consolidated net profit to Rs 282.4 crore for the second quarter ended September 2022. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 230 crore in the same period a year ago. The consolidated revenue from operations of L&T Technology Services (LTTS) grew about 24 per cent to Rs 1,995 crore from Rs 1,607.7 crore in the September 2021 quarter. LTTS CEO and Managing Director Amit Chadha said the company has achieved annualised revenue run-rate of USD 1 billion (about Rs 8,000 crore) in constant currency terms. "We are proud to have achieved a USD 1 billion annualized revenue run-rate in the second quarter on constant currency basis.
